Mr. Silva joined Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, Inc. as President and CEO in February of 2007 and was appointed Vice Chairman of its Board of Directors in 2009. Since joining the Company, he has led a comprehensive restructuring and expansion of the Checkers® & Rally’s® business. Driven by the hunger to succeed, Mr. Silva has recruited industry-leading talent to the management team and evolved the strategy and vision for the brand all while making substantial improvements across all aspects of the company, including restaurant-level profitability, menu and marketing, and new restaurant growth. &break;“One of the things that makes Checkers so awesome is the exciting growth opportunities that we have. We owe it to all our customers, die-hards and casual eaters alike, to build more restaurants that are convenient and accessible.” Prior to joining Checkers, Mr. Silva successfully served in a number of leadership positions at Burger King Corporation for a period of more than 13 years. As Senior Vice President, Franchise Operations, Mr. Silva was responsible for more than 3,300 franchise restaurants in the U.S. and Canada and also served as Senior Vice President, U.S. Company Operations for Burger King, where he oversaw more than 600 company restaurants with a team of 15,000 employees which during he successfully lead the financial, operational, and cultural turnaround of those restaurants. &break;Prior to his work in U.S. Operations, he served as President of Burger King’s Latin America Region where he was responsible for all business in South America, Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean (including Puerto Rico). Mr. Silva earned his Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He is a licensed attorney in the State of Florida and is a member of the Florida Bar. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration Degree in accounting from the University of Miami, Florida.
